Dyslexic Kids

Our road to a dyslexia diagnosis was a long one.  It wasn’t until our youngest daughter was diagnosed at 10 that the word “dyslexia” even entered our world.  It was then that we realised her differences weren’t “different” as it turned out – we were a family of  dyslexics.  Having survived Primary (Elementary) school – just – we are now in the world of Middle and High School.  If you are the parent of a dyslexic kid of this age, I am sure you appreciate how much longer it takes these kids to work through the regular classroom work and then the dreaded tests…My two dyslexic kids are very different learners with very different strengths, knowing how what kid of learner your kid is vital to helping them succeed.  The tips I have on my blog are things that have worked for us…
